Meet Peter Clinch — founder of Carpet Chemist and your trusted local expert in carpet care. Peter built this business to give Kiwis a smarter, more affordable alternative to replacing their carpets.
With a background in microbiology, biochemistry, and mycology, and certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration (IICRC), Peter brings deep scientific knowledge to every job. Over a decade ago, he created Carpet Chemist to deliver expert cleaning solutions that work — without harsh chemicals or hefty replacement costs. What started in Dunedin has grown into a nationwide movement, with over 50 trainees using Peter’s proven Carpet Cleaning System across New Zealand. But at the heart of it all is still the same mission: to bring homes back to life, one carpet at a time, with honesty, care, and guaranteed results.
